GET INVOLVED Discuf : (Discussion Forum) Discuf is a Forum for the members and local public discuss issues of regional, national and international significance. Keeping this objectives in focus, the Y.M.C.A arrange various programmes regularly and eminent personalities from differs walks of life address the members to enlighten them on various issues. Inter Faith Forum: (IFF)- Inter Faith Forum is a get together of people of different faiths to study the deeply about various religions. Forums arrange such programmes every month of the benefit of its members. Sports & Games : Y.M.C.A organizes various tournaments in Shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess etc. During the summer vacation coaching camps are arranging football, cricket, basket ball, roller skating, badminton, table tennis etc in association with various district sports organizations. Y.M.C.A Balajanasakhyam : A unit of Balajansakhyam (Of Malayala Manorama) functions in the Y.M.C.A. Children between the age of 6-18 can enroll as members. The motto of the Balajanasakhyam is ‘We Serve’. Balajanasakhyam aims to develop the qualities of leadership through public service and loyalty to motherland. Social Service : Y.M.C.A involves in various social service activities in and around Tiruvalla municipality. Assistance are given to needy for education, medical treatment etc. Y.M.C.A – Florida Kairali social service project with the help of NRI friends of Y.M.C.A, every year extends helps to the worthy through the social service committee of Y.M.C.A. Sum of the major social service projects in the recent years include rehabilitation of 11 families of the Railway colony to ‘Padathupalam’ by constructing new houses for them. The Y.M.C.A Vikas school (School for mentally challenged) is also supported by the donations of members and well wishers. Blood Donors Forum: The blood donors forum at the Y.M.C.A aims brings together service minded people to donate blood to the patients in time of emergency. Those interested can register the names at the Y.M.C.A. Youth Activities : Y.M.C.A is a hub of a host of youth activities like personality and leadership development camps. School-college competitions, Counseling at schools etc. Bible Club : Bible club aims to bring young and old alike to study Bible seriously. Classes are arranged every month to enlighten club members. Y.M.C.A Choir : The X’mas day celebrations and house visits are arranged under the auspices of the choir every year. The proceeds from the collection from the members donated to the Y.M.C.A. Vikas school for its activities. Public Grievance : Y.M.C.A give leadership sort out various public grievances by liaison work with the officials of municipality and government. Some of the major initiatives in this regard is the Solid waste management conscientisation. Y.M.C.A - C.K. Raa School of Fine Arts: Y.M.C.A - C.K. Raa school of fine arts established to propagate the memory of the great artist C.K. Raa organizes classes in painting, drawing, clay modeling, Toy making etc. every year.
